sdy prize is an award to support international students from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. The winner will receive a grant of up to $100,000 to be applied towards their study at the University of Sydney, with the remainder being used by the recipient to cover living costs. The award is open to international citizens of the following countries: Africa, South & Central America, Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan etc), Eastern Europe and Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. Applicants must also have an offer of admission for a new undergraduate coursework degree or postgraduate coursework degree at the time of applying.
The sdy prize fund invests in securities that yield high dividends and have increased their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. This gives it a solid dividend focus, but limits its diversification. The fund has low fees and a relatively low minimum investment amount.
